what is reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese form of healing founded by Mikao Usui in 1920. The term “Rei” means Universal Life and “Ki” means Energy. All life forms have this force of nature running through them, and Reiki is a form of holistic healing, channelling energy from source which is dispersed by the hands of the practitioner to the body. The body absorbs the energy through the chakras where it is distributed by the body systems and starts the healing process. Every body has an innate ability to heal itself; in order to do so, the mind has to be quiet and the body deeply relaxed. Reiki is highly effective at enabling this process.
